Dresden heist: "They stole 21 pieces of jewelry worth €113,800 - less profitable than an armored car robbery.“ This is misleading. German media initially speculated the value was a billion euros. The museum director said, no, their worth was actually "immeasurable." Your figure is for the insurance value, which followers of the story know is totally irrelevant… unless you want to make a joke at the expense of accuracy.

Criticism noted. The crime has been widely reported and the point was to compare the actual take home pay for the perps - their booty would have been more inline with the insurance value (melted down and parted out). I was shocked by the difference and also amazed that German media would report on how much cash armoured cars carry.

It was a bit more complex. The SPD said the Greens were pushing a congestion tax and refused to negotiate. The greens wanted MORE. Everyone else said it was actually the SPD (according to Tagesspiegel).
