C2? Isn't the requirement for citizenship B1?

Yes, but I thought I could cheat and do a quick 15-minute verbal test but then me and the test woman didn't get along. I'll be buying a voodoo doll to ruin the rest of her life.

Really, C2 is only verbal? I had heard that the C tests are of education, not German language skills, and so thought I had a better shot at C1 than B2, as I will never, ever be perfect at this...

Yikes. I was also horrified when I read that you failed a C2 verbal test. You've been here for what, 20 years? I'm 58 years old. I've been here in Germany for 7 years. I'm barely capable of speaking at a B1 level. I don't want to be taking the exam when I'm 70!!!

🙌🏻 60, 5 years here but 2 each Vienna (3/4 time) and Mannheim (part time / husband's job), and waiting to hear which side of the B1 line I'm on.

Please hurry and get citizenship so you can vote! C2 is way too high a level and is not necessary for the application! B2 and maybe even B1 is enough. (Kudos if you passed the written C2 test...)

Should've spent more, we don't need tourists joining the NYE chaos. Hopefully the appeal for a harsher sentence goes through.

That's absurd. I hate fireworks but the powers that be have determined them to be legal so anyone here can certainly partake until I get my wish and their abolished. He wasn't found guilty of anything and got three months behind bars -- I would wager that some murderers don't even get that kind of sentence in Germany. I don't like what he did but he doesn't deserve inhuman treatment.
