Why are we still so concerned about manual garbage sorting and bringing in "garbage squads" when there are companies that utilize technology for robotic sorting of trash. Much more efficient and imagine needing only one type of bin (okay two, one for bio)! It will only get more efficient with AI.
So true. I believe a city in southern Germany (Ulm, maybe) had a pilot programme a few years ago that tested automated sorted. Turned out it was more effective than human sorting, but the authorities decided against it because it meant that citizens became less aware of the impact of their garbage or something.
Look on the bright side: Berlin can kaputtsparen itself into being cool again.
