I agree their strategy is questionable and their protests won't achieve the outcome they seek, alas they're trying to do something at least.
Actually the very definition of economic terrorism is the secret manipulation of the economy (a very quick google search helped with that). I would argue the rising energy prices undoubtedly fall into that category.
Ethically, no I don't think destroying someone's property is okay. Financially, that's exactly why insurance exists...
